Leaf Crest Dragon (Male)

This dragon species has dimorphism easily distinguished by looking at the leaves on the head. Males have three smooth edge leaves whereas females have one large serrated edge leaf.

Leaf crests are found in more tropical locations. The leaves both on their heads and tails are harvest-able, and they use their own leaves to build their nests and feed their young. As leaf crests age, they're weaned off their parents leaves once they learn to hunt. Due to being used to feed their young, the leaves of these dragons are packed full of nutrients comparable to a mammal's milk and make for fantastic green smoothies. However, the dragons do not take well to domestication and as such harvesting them is extremely dangerous.

They have beak-like mouths and large esophagi for swallowing large hunks of meat, or for the case of smaller prey, swallowing them whole. The dragons must be befriended at a young age and introduced and seen as a non-threat by parents in order to safely be near, otherwise they see humans as prey animals. Adults are around the size of a modern day elephant.
